Charles J. Meltz

Charles J. "Chuck" Meltz is a graduate of the University of Florida, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in 1990 and his Juris Doctorate in 1993. Upon graduation, Mr. Meltz became an Assistant State Attorney with the 18th Judicial Circuit (Seminole County), where he worked as a prosecutor for more than two years. During that time, Mr. Meltz brought over 50 jury trials to verdict, with an equivalent number of non-jury proceedings. Since 1996, Mr. Meltz has practiced exclusively as a civil litigator; he has been a Partner at Grower Ketcham since February 2004.

Mr. Meltz frequently handles matters in which he defends attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, real estate professionals and healthcare providers (professional liability). Many of these legal matters have complex commercial components with issues frequently involving matters of audit, tax, due diligence, financial analysis, stock valuation and financial planning (to name just a few). On the medical side, Mr. Meltz has represented nurses, doctors and hospitals in numerous legal matters, many of which involved matters of alleged wrongful death or catastrophic injury. He is deeply involved in all of his cases from the time his representation begins, through the achievement of final resolution.

Mr. Meltz, an AV® Preeminent 4.9 out of 5 rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, has tried civil cases in Alachua, Brevard, Orange, Seminole, Manatee, Broward, Hillsborough, Osceola, Pasco, Lake and Polk counties. He has handled administrative actions before the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Department of Health (AHCA) and The Florida Bar. Through every step, Mr. Meltz prides himself on his commitment to his clients, with frequent communication and updates throughout the professional relationship. Being sued under a theory of professional negligence is distracting at best, and devastating at worst; Mr. Meltz looks for every opportunity to ensure his clients understand the process, the facts,  the strategy and the goals that form the cornerstone of their defense.

When not at the office, Mr. Meltz is very active with his family, particularly in supporting his daughter's involvement with the arts. The Meltz family also serve as "puppy raisers" for Southeastern Guide Dogs for the blind.
